The Daily Spin was launched for the 2012 holiday season as a way to provide free games to EA customers. 7 games were selected and over 1 million codes were distributed. The Daily Spin was an HTML based mini game that lived on the EA Daily Deals website. The site/game was designed to resemble a slot machine in which winners were given a free download code.
The game had the ability to detect previous wins and would supply winners with an alternative game code in the chance they won the same game twice. Various security methods were introduced in order to reduce hacking and bot attacks on the codes. The site was live through December 2012 and parts of January 2013.
